TRAINER RESELLING GUIDE UK

Source trainers with a repeatable condition-and-margin checklist.

Trainer resale value depends on more than brand. Model, size, colourway, condition, authenticity evidence and cleaning effort can all change what a pair is worth and how quickly it may sell.

Identify the exact trainer model

Use the visible product details, model name and style code when available. Do not price a different generation, junior version or visually similar shoe as though it were the same pair.

Confirm adult sizing

UK size alone may not be enough when listings mix adult, women’s, kids or junior variants. Use category, title, labels and photos together.

Inspect resale-critical wear

Look for outsole wear, heel wear, separation, holes, deep creasing, staining, torn lining and damaged laces. Distinguish cleanable dirt from structural damage.

Estimate cleaning effort separately from resale value

The likely resale price should reflect the market for the item. Your own future cleaning or repair cost belongs in your profit calculation, not inside the resale estimate itself.

Track actual profit by pair

Record what you paid, what you spent restoring it and what it actually sold for. This gives you evidence about which models and price points work for your sourcing strategy.
